Pune Police Busts Prostitution Ring, Rescues Six Victims Near Wagholi

Wagholi, 7th September 2023: The Social Security Cell of the Pune Police Crime Branch successfully raided Hotel Manora in Lonikand, rescuing six young women who had been lured into the prostitution business.

Additionally, they arrested two hotel managers in connection with the case. The arrested individuals have been identified as Prajyot Hirianna Hegde (27) and Girish Sham Shetty (29), both residents of Perne Phata.

The raid was conducted at Hotel Manora in Lonikand, where it was discovered that six young women, all around 20 years of age and hailing from Bangladesh, were being exploited for prostitution activities. Police Constable Reshma Kank from the Social Security Cell filed a formal complaint at the Lonikand Police Station to initiate legal proceedings.

According to the police, the Social Security Cell received information regarding alleged prostitution activities taking place at Hotel Manora. Subsequently, they deployed undercover officers as decoy customers to gather evidence. Following confirmation of the illicit activities, a raid was promptly executed, revealing that the young women were involved in prostitution. The managers were found charging customers Rs 1500, with Rs 1000 being split between the two managers and Rs 500 going to the young women.

The police team executing the raid was led by Senior Police Inspector Bharat Jadhav and included API Ashwini Patil, Aniket Pote, Rajesh Malegave, police personnel Ajay Rane, Rajendra Kumawat, Baba Karpe, Kamble, Sagar Kekan, Tushar Bhivarkar, Amey Rasal, Amit Jamdade, Sandeep Kolge, Kishar Bhujbal, Omkar Kumhar, Irfan Pathan, and Reshma Kank.
