Pune Police Check Over 4,000 Criminals On Record Before New Year

Pune, 29th December 2022: In the background of Shaurya Diwas, celebrated in Koregaon Bhima along with New Year, the Pune City Police conducted a combing operation on Wednesday night. Out of 4,091 criminals on police record, police found 841 persons in a joint operation under each police station along with the crime branch.
The action was taken under the guidance of Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr and Joint CP Sandeep Karnik.
The combing operation was carried out by the police to maintain law and order in the city. According to this, various teams of the crime branch and local police carried out a search operation from 9 pm Wednesday to 2 am on Thursday. 38 persons were arrested as per the Arms Act, and weapons, including 40 choppers and four swords, were seized from them.
Preventive action has been taken against 76 accused under CrPC Act. Notices were also given to the accused persons who were released from jail on bail.
A total of 527 hotels/lodges were also checked beside bus stops, bus stands, railway stations, and isolated places.
