Kalyaninagar, 3rd January 2025: The Yerawada police have filed separate cases against two pubs in Kalyaninagar for organizing New Year parties without obtaining the necessary permissions. Incidentally, both establishments were penalized last year as well for violating closure timings and other regulations.

One of the pubs, Unicorn House located near DMart, was raided on Tuesday evening after nearby residents complained about loud music. The complaint was registered around 9:30 p.m. “Our beat marshals patrolling the area inspected the pub and found a DJ playing loud music. Around 60 customers were present on the premises,” said Senior Inspector Ravindra Shelke of the Yerawada police station.

The police intervened immediately, shutting down the party and confiscating the music equipment. “The pub management had not secured prior permission for either the event or the music arrangements. As a result, a case under Section 223 of the Bombay Police Act, which deals with disobedience to orders promulgated by public servants, was registered on Wednesday,” Inspector Shelke explained.

In a separate incident, another pub Ballr was also booked for hosting an unauthorized event late at night on December 27. “The management organized a New Year celebration featuring international performers without securing police approval. They also lacked the necessary permits to play music,” added Inspector Shelke.
