Hadapsar, 14th June 2025: Pune Police have successfully solved a high-profile housebreaking and theft case, recovering gold, diamond jewelry, and silver worth ₹43.55 lakh, along with a Yamaha R15 motorcycle used in the crime. The breakthrough came after a meticulous 23-day investigation involving the review of around 170 CCTV cameras and extensive technical analysis.

On 17th May, a case was registered at Hadapsar Police Station under BNS sections 331(3)(4) (punishment for house-trespass or house-breaking) and 305(A) (theft), following a theft at Magarpatta City. A parallel investigation by the Anti-Dacoity and Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad led to the discovery of a suspicious Yamaha R15 motorcycle without a number plate. CCTV footage confirmed the motorcycle was used by the suspect during the housebreaking incident. Police teams then launched a coordinated search across Solapur, Barshi, Dharashiv, Bhum, and Paranda to track down the accused.

The suspect, identified as Rohit Vilas Andhare (25), an X-ray technician originally from Dharashiv and currently residing in Kharadi, was apprehended.

During interrogation, Andhare confessed to committing the theft in a flat at Magarpatta City. Police recovered 48 tolas of gold and diamond jewelry, 500 grams of silver, and the Yamaha motorcycle from his possession.
