Pune: Maharashtra Government Grants Rs 20,000 Aid to Each Dindi for Ashadhi Wari 2025

Pune, 14th June 2025: The Maharashtra Government has announced a grant of Rs 20,000 for each dindi participating in the Ashadhi Ekadashi Yatra 2025. According to the official government resolution issued today, a total of 1,109 dindis accompanying the ten traditional palkhis will receive this financial assistance, amounting to a total allocation of Rs 2.21 crore.
This move continues last year’s policy, where the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department provided similar support to each dindi for the Ashadhi Ekadashi Yatra 2024. The list of eligible dindis was compiled by the Divisional Commissioner, Pune, and the same number of dindis will benefit this year.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, after holding a review meeting in Mumbai, directed officials to ensure the best possible facilities for the Warkaris (pilgrims) participating in the palkhi procession. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar also assured that there would be no shortage of funds for necessary arrangements. The administration is making extensive preparations to provide enhanced amenities for the pilgrims, with the continued grant expected to improve facilities for all participating dindis during the Ashadhi Wari 2025.
