Pune Police EOW Appeals Citizens to Come Forward with Complaints Against Haveli Land Records Officers

Pune, 3rd May 2025: In a significant development that could expose deeper irregularities in the land records system, the Pune City Police have registered a case against two government officials from the Land Records Office, Haveli, following a complaint by a businessman. The complainant alleged that the accused officers allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 50 lakh for demarcating land in Hadapsar.
The accused have been identified as:
Amarsingh Ramchandra Patil, Deputy Superintendent, Land Records, Haveli, Pune (resident of Kalyaninagar)
Kiran Krishnat Yetale, Land Surveyor, Land Records, Haveli, Pune
An FIR (No. 277/2025) has been registered at Yerawada Police Station under serious charges including sections 308(2), 198 and 201 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, which pertains to public servants accepting illegal gratification.
Probe Handed to Economic Offences Wing
The investigation has been transferred to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Pune City Police, indicating the seriousness of the allegations. Sources within the police suggest that the case could uncover a wider network of corruption and misuse of official power in land-related matters across the Haveli region.
Call to Citizens for More Information
In a public appeal, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has urged citizens who may have faced fraudulent activity, coercion, or irregularities involving either of the accused or the Land Records Office in Haveli to step forward.
