Pune Police Launch Dedicated Web Portal for Real-Time Ganesh Visarjan 2026 Tracking and Traffic Updates

Pune, 23rd September 2026: To ensure smooth crowd movement and minimize traffic congestion during the grand Ganesh Visarjan (immersion) processions, the Pune City Police have activated an upgraded dedicated portal —
The online platform provides citizens and visiting devotees with one-click access to real-time information on procession movements, road closures, designated parking lots, emergency medical stations, and alternate traffic routes.
Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil explained that the web portal, which previously assisted pilgrims during the annual Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage, has undergone significant technical upgrades.
“We have been using this website every year, including during the annual Wari pilgrimage. Earlier during Wari, the portal used to see around 21 to 25 lakh hits. However, after upgrading the platform to ensure high credibility and precise, real-time location accuracy, it recorded nearly 2.07 crore hits during this year’s Wari. I appeal to all citizens of Pune to actively use diversion.punepolice.gov.in during the immersion days”, he said.
Key Features of the Web Portal:
Live GPS Tracking of Processions: Devotees can monitor the real-time location and progress of the five revered Manache Ganpati and other major Ganpati mandals to plan their darshan without getting caught in bottlenecks.
Road Status & Diversions: Live updates on blocked streets, opened roads, and specific diversion points implemented across central Pune.
Designated Parking & Amenities: Pinpointed locations for official vehicle parking zones and ambulance deployment points for medical emergencies.
Temporary Ring Road Access: Guidance on an interconnected temporary ring route mapped out for vehicles that need to travel from one part of the city to another in exceptional or emergency situations without crossing procession bottlenecks.
Advisory: Use Public Transport & Pune Metro
Additional CP Patil strongly advised commuters and revellers to prioritize public transportation, particularly the Pune Metro, over private vehicles.
“If citizens use the Pune Metro and rely minimally on private vehicles, visiting and navigating the immersion procession routes will become very smooth and convenient,” Patil noted. “For those who must travel by vehicle, checking the portal beforehand will ensure you avoid major snarls and easily find alternative paths.”
The portal will remain active and continuously updated throughout the immersion festivities to assist lakhs of devotees arriving from across Maharashtra.
