Pune police launch enquiry in bribe allegation by deceased Marathi film producer Atul Tapkir

Pune – Pune police commissioner Rashmi Shukla has ordered enquiry against staffs from Sangvi police station after Marathi film producer Atul Tapkir alleged in his suicide note on Facebook that he had to pay bribe of Rs 10,000 to policemen after his wife had lodged a complaint.The bribe was paid for not arresting him in false case.

A DCP rank officer is conducting the probe which is expected to get over in a week time.

Pune police have booked his wife and others for abeting the suicide. The FIR is registered with Deccan Gymkhana police station.

Tapkir was found dead at a hotel in Erandwane on Sunday. He had produced the film Dhol Tashe in 2015 and suffered losses. Later there was dispute with his wife who had allegedly thrown him out of house.
