Wagholi, 5th July 2023: In a joint operation conducted on Tuesday, the Lonikand Traffic Branch and Crime Branch Unit Six of Pune City Police took action against 16 two-wheelers for various rule violations. The crackdown was prompted by offences such as driving without a licence, triple seating, removal of bullet silencers, and talking on mobile phones while riding.

The cops caught three individuals riding bullet motorcycles and creating a disturbance near Raisoni College. Action was taken against them as well. The presence of numerous colleges in Wagholi has led to a high influx of students commuting on two-wheelers and four-wheelers.

Unfortunately, many of these riders lack proper licences and engage in unsafe practices such as triple seating, using modified vehicles with removed silencers, and causing excessive noise pollution. Additionally, incidents of harassment against female students have been reported, with colleges seemingly hesitant to report such incidents.

Police Inspector Rajnish Nirmal from Crime Branch Unit Six has issued a stern warning, stating that strict action will be taken in collaboration with the authorities against individuals involved in such violations.
