Pune Police on High Alert as Prime Minister Narendra Modi Prepares for Pune Visit

Pune, 22nd April 2024: Pune City Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, accompanied by senior police officers, conducted a comprehensive inspection of key areas including JM Road, Tilak Road, and SP College ground on Monday, in anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to the city on April 29.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to address a gathering at SP College ground ahead of Pune’s elections on May 13. Police authorities have announced stringent security measures, with a deployment of 5000 police personnel supplemented by central security agencies to ensure the city’s safety during Modi’s visit. Additionally, it has been confirmed that Modi will be staying overnight in the city.

In addition to the public address at SP College ground, the Prime Minister is also expected to participate in a roadshow. In preparation for this event, senior officials conducted inspections of JM Road, the Deccan areas, and Tilak Road, where separate security arrangements will be implemented. With an estimated turnout of around 1 lakh people expected on Tilak Road and at SP College ground, meticulous planning and coordination among law enforcement agencies are underway to manage crowd control and ensure the smooth conduct of the Prime Minister’s visit.
