Pune Police Raid Gambling Den in Katraj, 17 People Face Charges

Pune, 19th November 2024: Pune Police raided a gambling den in the Katraj area. The operator of the gambling den, along with 16 others, has had a case registered against them. These individuals were involved in gambling at a building in the Ambegaon area near Katraj.

During the operation, police seized mobile phones, gambling paraphernalia, and cash worth ₹1.16 lakh. The action was carried out by the Ambegaon Police Station, with Police Constable Balaji Panchal filing a complaint against the accused.

The individuals arrested have been identified as Kishore Satpute (resident of Dandekar Bridge), Rajesh Uttekar, Laxman Mankar, Sahil Ibrahim Sathi (all residents of Dhankawadi), Kiran Dimbale, Rohidas Gorad (both residents of Parvati), Harshad Thorve (resident of Shukrawar Peth), Ganpat Sutar (resident of Narhe), Datta Jogi, Viraj Patil, Munawar Shaikh, Imran Dalal (all residents of Katraj), Vasant Vadh (resident of Shivane), Yogesh Dhumak (resident of Sinhagad Road), Dhamendra Singh (resident of Hadapsar), and Datta Sitap (resident of Narhe).

A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act, 1887. Police Sub-Inspector Mohan Kalamkar is investigating the matter further.
