Pune Police Raid Hotel Pyasa; Hookah, Foreign Liquor Seized

Pune, 4 March 2021: Police have taken action against Hotel Pyasa in Shukrawar Peth on Wednesday night. The action has been taken for illegally running a hookah parlour and selling liquor on the street.

‘Pyasa’ is known as a hotel that serves alcoholics 24 hours a day. No matter who the city police commissioner was, the hotel was always open for the customers.

However, Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Priyanka Narnawre have shown the courage to take action against the hotel.

According to a complaint lodged by Ajit Kumar Patil, Sub-Inspector of Faraskhana Police Station, a case has been registered against Manoj Shetty of Pyasa Hotel at Khadak Police Station.

According to police, Shetty is the manager of Pyasa Hotel, who was running an illegal hookah parlour. He was also selling liquor without a license by setting up a separate liquor counter along the road.
