Pune Police Raid Shop Selling Counterfeit Watches, Seize 175 Pieces

Pune, 3rd February 2025: The Pune Crime Branch conducted a raid on a shop in Shukrawar Peth, seizing 175 counterfeit watches bearing the brand name of a renowned watch manufacturer. The operation has led to the filing of a case against the shop owner under copyright infringement laws.

Bharat Prajapati, a resident of Shaniwar Peth, has been named as the accused in the case registered at Faraskhana Police Station. The raid took place at Chamunda Novelties in Shahabiya Society, Shukrawar Peth.

Acting on a tip-off about the sale of fake watches using the logo of a well-known company, Unit 5 of the Crime Branch carried out the operation. The police team confiscated 175 wristwatches during the raid.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingale and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime 2) Rajendra Mulik, with Senior Police Inspector Yuvraj Hande leading the raiding team.
