Pune police raid The Mugshot Lounge in Koregaon Park for IPL betting
Pune, May 26, 2016 – After getting information about IPL betting at The Mugshot Lounge, owned by Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra’s brother Sidharth, a team from the special branch and crime branch raided the eatery in Koregaon Park on Wednesday night.
Police said that 10 persons including some businessmen have been detained and mobile phones and other material worth Rs 4.42 lakhs have been seized.
Police Inspector Rajendra Jarag from the special branch had received information about the betting during IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday.
Accordingly a team led by Jarag and Inspector Anil Patil from Crime Branch raided the personal dining hall located on the second floor. People were found watching the match on screen and betting.
Those detained include Devang Mehta from Pune, Amit Patel from Ahmedabad and Rahul Shaha from Panvel.
