Pune: Police Recover 13 Stolen Two-Wheelers, Four Persons Including Minor Boy Nabbed

Hadapsar, 1st November 2021: The officials from Hadapsar police station under Pune city police have arrested four persons, including a minor and his brother, for allegedly stealing two-wheelers from the city for fun. Thirteen two-wheelers worth Rs five lakh have been seized from them.

The arrested persons have been identified as Yunus Nizam Mulla (25) of Sayyadnagar in Hadapsar, Hanumant Shankar Wakde (22) of Alur, Deepak alias Khandu Tatesaheb Katkadhond (24) of Kesar. All are natives of Umarga in the Osmanabad district.

Policemen Shahid Sheikh and Pradip Sonawane had received a tip-off about a minor boy who was going to Solapur road with his companion after stealing the bike. Accordingly, a trap was laid in Fursungi and the duo was detained.

During interrogation, they confessed to stealing 13 two-wheelers from the jurisdictions of Faraskhana, Hadapsar and Swargate police stations. Later, their two accomplices were also nabbed.

According to police, the gang from Umarga taluka used to send the minor boy to recce the crowded places in Hadapsar, Wanwadi, Swargate and Faraskhala police station areas. He used to keep watch on people parking bikes in public places and then used duplicate keys.

The investigation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Namrata Patil, ACP Kalyanrao Vidhate, Senior Police Inspector Arvind Gokule, API Hanumant Gaikwad. The team included Police Sub-Inspector Saurabh Mane and police personnel Pradip Sonawane, Ganesh Kshirsagar, Avinash Gosavi, Sandeep Rathod, Sameer Pandule, Shashikant Nale, Sachin Jadhav, Shahid Sheikh, Prashant Dudha, Nikhil Pawar, Prashant Tonpe, Riaz Sheikh and Sachin Gorkhe.
