Pune Police Recover Stolen iPhones, iPads, Laptops Worth Rs 1.53 Crore

Wagholi, 28th July 2022: Pune City Police recovered 197 iPhone handsets, seven iPads, three laptops and 12 accessories worth Rs 1.53 crore. Lonikand police station officials have arrested two persons till now.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Rohidas Pawar said that the accused are fruit vendors and they used to do the recce of target places and then call their friends from Jharkhand (native place) for the burglary.
Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Pawar, in-charge of Lonikand police station, said that acting on a tip-off received, the detection branch nabbed Abdul Hai Abujar Shaikh (20) and Abedur Afzal Shaikh (34), both residents of Radhanagar in Sahibganj district of Jharkhand. They were caught on the night of July 25 while preparing to commit robbery near Bharat Petroleum petrol pump on Wagholi-Kesnand Road. However, their three accomplices managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.
He added, “During the investigation, we came to know that the accused had stolen the valuables from the godown of Pro Connect Supply Chain Solutions Limited’s Seema Warehouse at Kale Odha on Kesnand road in Wagholi on July 24. The godown was shut when the accused broke into and decamped with the valuables.”
The investigation was done under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (East Region) Namdev Chavan, DCP (Zone 4) Rohidas Pawar, ACP (Yerwada Division) Kishore Jadhav and Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Pawar.
The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Maruti Patil and detection branch’s API Gajanan Jadhav, Nikhil Pawar, PSI Suraj Gore, Police Head Constable Balasaheb Sakate, Police Naik Vinayak Salve, Ajit Farande, Kailas Salunke, Sagar Jagtap, Police Constable Amol Dhone, Sai Rokde, Pandurang Mane, Sameer Pilane, Deepak Kokre and Ashish Lohar.
