Pune police recovers 5 pistols, one Carbine, 69 bullets from Ravi Pujari gang member
Pune : Officials from Pune city police have seized huge quantity of arms and ammunitions from a sharp shooter of dreaded Ravi Pujari gang. Police said that the ammunitions have been manufactured by Ammunition Factory in Khadki.
The arrested accuseds have been identified as sharp shooter Sadiq Ibrahim Bangali (39) and his accomplice Rihan Rafiq Sayyed (23), both residents of Lonavala.
Acting on tip-off received by head constable Santosh Kshirsagar from the detection branch of Swargate police station, a trap was laid near state transport (ST) stand on Satara road and the duo were nabbed around 4 pm on Saturday.
According to police, there are nine cases against Bangali. He is involved in firing on film producer Mahesh Bhatt in 2006 in Mumbai and also an accused in murder of Shiv Sena corporator Devidas Chaugule in Navi Mumbai. Bangali is also involved in double murder in Lonavala as well as conspiring to murder Lonavala municipal council president Amit Gavli.
