Camp, 28 August 2021: An FIR has been registered by Pune city police against the former corporator of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vivek Yadav. He has been earlier booked under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

Based on a complaint from Akbar Pirsab (35), a resident of Yewlewadi, Lashkar police station has registered the case against Yadav and his eight accomplices.

According to police, Bablu Gawli had opened fire on Yadav and tried to kill him during the Ganesh immersion procession in 2016. In order to take revenge, Yadav gave a contract (supari) to Rajan Rajmani and his associate Ibrahim Shaikh to kill Gawli. He had also allegedly given three pistols and seven cartridges to the supari killers.

Police Sub Inspector Prabhakar Kapure nabbed Rajmani and Ibrahim with the weapons and unearthed the conspiracy.
