Pune: Police register FIR against seven persons for not wearing mask

Pune, April 10, 2020: As Pune district has become the second highest place with number of Coronavirus positive patients in the state, the administration has made it mandatory for everyone to wear mask (either three-layered or made of cloth) if they are outside their homes. And those violating this rule are being booked by police.

The Chikhali police station under Pimpri-Chinchwad police yesterday registered FIRs against seven persons who were found without masks. “They were going to buy essential commodities but not wearing mask in Kudalwadi area. Therefore, we registered FIRs against them for offence under section 188 (disobedience of order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code”, said senior police inspector Satish Mane, in-charge of Chikhali police station.

With increase of 547 new COVID19 cases 30 deaths in last 12 hours; India’s total number of #Coronavirus positive cases has increased to 6412 (including 5709 active cases, 504 cured/discharged/migrated and 199 deaths), said Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

While wearing a mask, make sure you:

Unfold the pleats of the mask; make sure that they are facing down.

Place the mask over your nose, mouth and chin and ensure there are no gaps on either side of the mask, adjust to fit.

Avoid touching the mask, while using it.

Do not leave the mask hanging from the neck.

Change the mask after six hours or as soon as they become wet.

Never reuse disposable masks and dispose the used masks into closed bins after disinfecting them.

Do not touch the potentially contaminated outer surface of the mask, while removing it.

After removal of mask, clean your hands with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand rub disinfectant.
