Pune Police Seize Mephedrone Worth Rs 10.6 Lakh

Pune, 16th April 2025: In a significant crackdown on narcotics in Pune, the city police arrested Bajranglal Bhagwanram Khilleri, a 21-year-old resident of Moshi and native of Rajasthan, after seizing 53 grams of mephedrone (MD) valued at Rs 10.6 lakh. The operation, conducted today by the Anti-Narcotics Cell 2, also led to the confiscation of an R15 bike worth Rs 1.8 lakh and other items, bringing the total seizure value to Rs 12.9 lakh.

The arrest followed a tip-off received by Police Constable Yuvraj Kamble during routine patrolling. Acting swiftly, the police found Khilleri in suspicious circumstances and, upon checking, discovered the banned narcotic substance in his possession. The successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingle, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime-2) Rajendra Mulik, with Police Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad leading the team.
