Pune Police Seizes Sound System At Restaurant In Koregaon Park For Violating Noise Pollution Laws
Koregaon Park, 26th February 2023: The Social Security Cell (SSC) of the Pune Police Crime Branch on Saturday night received complaints of loud music being played at The Daily Restaurant & Bar located in Lane No.7 of Koregaon Park area in Pune. Upon investigation, the police officers confirmed that the establishment was playing music at a high volume and creating noise pollution in the area.
Following this, the police took action against the restaurant and seized their sound system and DJ mixer. The seized equipment was valued at Rs 2,30,000 and has been handed over to the Koregaon Park Police Station for further action as per the rules.
The action was taken under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, and the Environment Protection Act, 1986. The police have charged the manager of the restaurant under the said Acts for violating noise pollution regulations.
The action was taken by a team comprising Senior Police Inspector Bharat Jadhav, API Ashwini Patil and police personnel Rajendra Kumawat, Baba Karpe, Sandeep Kolge, and Amit Jamdade.
