Pune Police Solve Six Theft Cases, Recover Stolen Vehicles and Electronics

Pune, 31st January 2025: Pune Police have successfully solved six theft cases, recovering five two-wheelers, two laptops, and a camera. The breakthrough came after the Detection Branch of Sinhagad Road Police Station arrested two notorious thieves in the Navale Bridge area.

Police Constables Deva Chavan and Sagar Shedge, acting on a tip-off, set up a trap near Navale Bridge. They intercepted two suspicious individuals identified as Sopan Ramesh Tonde (27) from Kothrud and Akash Sunil Nakade (29), originally from Solapur but residing in Kothrud. The suspects were found in possession of a stolen Activa bike from Narhe Gaon.

Further investigation revealed the duo’s involvement in multiple thefts and burglaries across Pune. The solved cases include three from Sinhagad Road Police Station, and one each from Alankar, Faraskhana, and Market Yard Police Stations. Among the recovered items were five motorcycles, including a Hero Splendor that was not reported stolen, two laptops, and a camera.

The Sinhagad Road area has recently seen an increase in vehicle thefts and burglaries. The police used CCTV footage and other technical means during their investigation, which ultimately led to this significant breakthrough.

Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Nikam from Sinhagad Road Police Station is leading the ongoing investigation to uncover any potential links to other unsolved cases in the area.
