Pune, 10th March 2023: A police sub-inspector from the Alankar police station in Pune has been suspended for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from an accused individual. The suspended officer has been identified as Arvind Shinde, who was posted at the Dahanukar Colony Police chowky.

The incident occurred during an investigation of a conflicting case concerning the ownership of a house in the Erandwane area, which was not under Shinde’s jurisdiction. However, he called the accused to the police chowky and demanded a bribe to avoid arrest.

Upon receiving a complaint, senior officers interrogated Shinde and found evidence of the bribe. The Additional Commissioner of Police Rajendra Dahale ordered Shinde’s suspension, citing his actions as a blemish on the police force’s reputation.
