Pune, 5th March 2025: Pune City Police will soon induct state-of-the-art Mobile Surveillance Vans (MSVs) into their fleet to enhance crime prevention and maintain law and order during emergencies. These advanced vehicles will function as mobile command units, equipped with cutting-edge surveillance technology.

Each MSV will feature high-resolution CCTV sensors, automated long-range wireless cameras, and live video streaming capabilities, ensuring real-time monitoring of criminal activities and high-risk areas. Additionally, the vans will be equipped with five drones, with police personnel trained to operate them for enhanced aerial surveillance.

The MSVs will be linked to a central Command Center at the Pune Police headquarters in Shivajinagar, allowing officers to access live footage from the field. Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar stated that the cost of each MSV is approximately ₹1.5 crore, and five such vans will be added to the fleet by the end of March or early April.

These vans will play a crucial role in emergency response, disaster management, and crime scene monitoring. They will be equipped with video conferencing, surveillance, and video management systems. The vehicles will also feature Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras and 360-degree filming capabilities from long-range wireless cameras. Cameras will be mounted on the front, back, and both sides of the van’s roof to provide comprehensive coverage.
