Pune policeman gets rousing welcome after defeating Corona

Pune, May 21, 2020: A policeman who was released after battling Coronavirus for 25 days was greeted by senior officers who showered flowers on him yesterday. Sachin Khute, who works at the Faraskhana police station in Pune, was diagnosed with COVID19 on April 24. He was then housed in an isolation centre set up at Symbiosis hospital in Lavale. After successful treatment, he was discharged from the hospital. Senior police officials were present during the discharge. All of them welcomed Sachin Khute by showering flowers on him.
So far, about 4,000 coronavirus patients have been found in Pune city and Faraskhana police station area is among the containment zones. Twenty-five officers and staff of the Pune police force have been infected with corona. Of these, 13 have been discharged so far. 12 employees are still undergoing treatment. Assistant Sub Inspector Dilip Londhe, who worked at Faraskhana police station, succumbed to COVID earlier this month while undergoing treatment.
Pune Police has already decided not to give field duty to staffs who are above 50 years of age or women constables who children at home. Also, more leave has been given to employees who are nearing retirement and those who have some illness.
In the last 24 hours, 60 policemen in Maharashtra have contracted corona. A total of 1,388 police corona are in isolation. In Pimpri-Chinchwad, four police personnel including a police inspector was detected with COVID yesterday.
