Shivajinagar, 24th May 2024: The district and sessions court today remanded 6 accused, including the father of the accused teen driver, to judicial custody for 14 days. They will now be lodged at the Yerwada Central Jail instead of the police lock-up. They have also become eligible for bail.

Builder Vishal Agarwal, owner of Bramha Realty and Infrastructure, is accused of allowing his minor son to attend a party, consume liquor, and then drive a car, resulting in the deaths of two IT professionals in Kalyani Nagar in the early hours of May 19.

Along with Agarwal, the other accused include Naman Prahlad Bhutada, owner of Cosie club, and staff of Blak Club. They have been charged with serving liquor to minors, including the teen driver.

Today, Pune police invoked additional sections, including IPC section 420, besides a section of the Motor Vehicles Act and Prohibition Act.

Section 420 (cheating) has been added as Agarwal didn’t pay the Porsche car’s registration fee of Rs 1758. The car was running without number plates.
