Pune Porsche Accident: Minor Confesses to Drunken Driving, His Friends Become Witnesses in Case
Pune, 3rd June 2024: New revelations continue to emerge in the Pune Kalyaninagar Porsche accident case, shedding light on the tragic incident that claimed two lives on May 19, 2024. According to sources close to the investigation, the minor accused has confessed to the police that he was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
The 17-year-old minor, son of builder Vishal Agarwal, admitted during police interrogation on June 1 that he was driving under the influence of alcohol on the night of the accident. Sources reveal that the minor, who is currently in an observation home, stated that he has limited recollection of the events surrounding the accident.
The Pune police, in their ongoing investigation, also interrogated the minor’s friends who were present in the back seat of the car during the collision. Sources indicate that the friends corroborated the minor’s admission, revealing that he was driving the car at high speed after consuming alcohol. Both friends are expected to be witnesses in the case.
The Agarwal family is facing legal repercussions. The minor, along with his father, mother, and grandfather, has been arrested in connection with the case. The minor’s father Vishal Agarwal and his grandfather, Surendra Kumar Agarwal, are in judicial custody for allegedly conspiring to abduct the driver after the accident. Shivani Agarwal, the minor’s mother, has been remanded in police custody until June 5.
The accident resulted in the tragic deaths of two IT engineers, Aneesh Awadhiya (24 years) and Ashwini Koshta (24 years), who were riding a two-wheeler at the time of the collision. The impact was so severe that Koshta was thrown 15 feet away from the scene. The Yerwada police have filed a case against the minor under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicles Act.
So far, a total of 10 individuals, including the Agarwal family members and individuals associated with the pub where the minor allegedly consumed alcohol, have been arrested in connection with the case.
