Pune Porsche Case: Victim’s Father Says Accused Family “Mocking Common Citizens” As Video of Celebration After Bail Goes Viral
Pune, 27th May 2026: Public anger over the 2024 Pune Porsche crash case has resurfaced after a viral video allegedly showed members of the Agarwal family celebrating following the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to the accused in the evidence tampering case linked to the crash.
Reacting to the video, Suresh Koshta, father of victim Ashwini Koshta, alleged that the celebrations reflected a lack of fear of the law and insensitivity towards the victims’ families.
Koshta, who interacted with ANI questioned whether existing laws were stringent enough to deter reckless behaviour and crime. He also expressed concern over what he described as the misuse of legal provisions related to juveniles.
The victim’s father further criticised the contrast between decisions taken by lower courts and subsequent relief granted by higher courts, claiming such developments weaken public faith in the justice system. He demanded cancellation of bail granted to the accused and sought strict action against all those allegedly involved in the case.
The Pune Porsche crash case dates back to May 2024, when two persons were killed after a luxury car allegedly driven by a juvenile rammed into their motorcycle in Pune.
During the investigation, police alleged attempts were made to tamper with blood samples and medical evidence to shield the accused. The probe also examined allegations of financial transactions aimed at manipulating medical reports.
In February this year, the Supreme Court of India granted bail to three accused in the evidence tampering case while imposing conditions, including that they should not misuse their liberty. The apex court had observed that while the incident raised serious concerns over reckless conduct and parental responsibility, prolonged detention at that stage would not be justified.
