Pune: Post-Covid Rehabilitation Center Started At YCM Hospital In Pimpri

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 16th June 2021: A Post Covid Rehabilitation Centre has been started at Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital in Pimpri. The centre has been operational for patients since Tuesday.
In the past one year, many people have been infected with Coronavirus disease (COVID19) and most of them have recovered. However, many Covid patients suffer from anaemia, reduced lung function, and shortness of breath even after recovering from Covid. It is imperative to rehabilitate them and improve their physical fitness as well as their daily lifestyle.
Accordingly, Post-Covid Rehabilitation Center has been started at YCM Hospital. Physiotherapists will teach the patients the proper exercises with the help of equipment. After doing various exercises, these patients will notice an improvement in their health, officials said.
PCMC and Cipla Foundation took the initiative to provide necessary equipment in this rehabilitation centre. The corporation has also appointed an expert physiotherapist. To fulfil the requirements for starting the centre, the hospital superintendent Dr Rajesh Wable, Cipla Foundation Head Anurag Mishra, Dr Kranti Raimane, Head of Urology Department, Head of Physiotherapy Department held meetings from time to time to review the situation.
