Pune: Prakash Ambedkar Pays Respects at Vijaystambh on Shaurya Din, Speaks on Santosh Deshmukh Murder
Bhima Koregaon, 1st January 2025: Every year on 1st January, on the occasion of Shaurya Din, many people from various parts of Maharashtra visit the Vijaystambh in Bhima Koregaon, Pune District. This tradition continued this year as well. This year, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) President Prakash Ambedkar also visited and paid his respects. Afterwards, he spoke to the media about the Santosh Deshmukh murder case and other developments related to the case.
When asked whether the police had failed to arrest Walmik Karad in the Massajog (Beed) Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh murder case and whether it was part of a pre-planned move for Karad to appear at the CID office, Prakash Ambedkar said, “The situation is being portrayed as a Maratha vs. Vanjari issue. The Maharashtra State Government should have been more vigilant. Also, where was Walmik Karad hiding? The police seem unaware of this, which is surprising. I request the intelligence agencies to stop repeatedly highlighting their failures in public.”
He further stated that all of this appeared to be pre-planned and straightforward, with nothing new about it. He emphasized that there is immense pressure on the government regarding this matter and urged the Chief Minister not to succumb to this pressure.
