Pune: Prostitution racket busted at row house in Baner

Pune, June 24, 2020: While COVID19 cases in the city are increasing day by day, on the other hand, illegal trades continue. Pune city police have busted a high profile prostitution racket operating from a row house in ​​Baner.

The arrested accused has been identified as Suresh Pralhad Ranveer, a resident of Baner. A case has been registered at Chaturshringi police station against him and a woman who was running the prostitution business with him.

According to Chaturshringi police station officials, they had received a tip-off about the sex racket near Pashan hill in Dhankude Vasti area. Accordingly, they raided the row house and rescued four women who were forced into the prostitution racket. Police arrested the manager Ranveer and a woman who helped in the illegal business. The rescued women have been kept at a shelter home.

The action was taken guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police Laxman Borate by a team of led by senior police inspector Anil Shewale. Investigations have revealed that the accused persons had lured the women in the name of earning extra income.
