Pune: Prostitution Racket Busted in Baner, Crime Branch Raids Massage Parlor

Baner, 4th December 2024: A prostitution racket operating under the guise of a massage parlor in Baner has been uncovered by the Pune Crime Branch. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the “Moon Thai Spa,” detaining three young women and registering a case against the parlor’s manager and two accomplices.
The accused include Satauddin Mohammad Dilawar Hussain (22), a resident of Juni Sangvi, along with two others. They have been booked under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act. The investigation revealed that the manager was allegedly enticing young women into prostitution with promises of money.
The raid was conducted following orders from Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, who has directed stringent action against illegal activities, including prostitution, gambling, and matka dens in the city. The Crime Branch team led by Inspector Sangita Jadhav of the Bharosa Cell, acted on information suggesting illegal operations at the massage parlor. To confirm the activities, decoy customers were sent in, exposing the illicit business before the raid was executed.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior police officials, including Additional Commissioner (Crime) Shailesh Balkavade, DCP (Crime) Nikhil Pingale, and ACP Ganesh Ingle.
