Yerwada, 4th December 2024: The Pune Police have been granted permission to conduct a joint interrogation of 10 accused in the Kalyaninagar Porsche accident case. The accused, currently in judicial custody at Yerwada Central Jail, are allegedly involved in tampering with blood samples of the minor driver and destroying evidence.

Special Judge U. M. Mudholkar approved the police’s request, submitted by Crime Branch ACP Ganesh Ingle, on Wednesday.

The case stems from an accident involving the minor son of builder Vishal Agarwal, who was initially taken into custody. The accused include Vishal Surendrakumar Agarwal, his wife Shivani Agarwal (both residents of Vadgaon Sheri), Dr. Ajay Taware, the head of the forensic department at Sassoon Hospital, and Dr. Srihari Halnor, Casualty Medical Officer of the Emergency Department. Others booked are peon Atul Ghatakamble, Ashpak Makandar (who facilitated financial transactions), Amar Gaikwad, Aditya Avinash Sood (52, resident of Ghorpadi), Ashish Satish Mittal (37, resident of Vimannagar), and Arun Kumar Singh, who allegedly altered the blood samples of children involved in the case.

A chargesheet has been filed against nine of the accused, while proceedings are pending for Arun Kumar Singh, who reportedly directed Ashish Mittal to tamper with the samples. After all chargesheets are submitted, a joint trial is expected.

The investigation seeks to determine how much money was paid to Dr. Taware, Dr. Halnor, and peon Ghatakamble for altering the blood samples and destroying evidence. Authorities are also probing whether the accused offered bribes or other inducements to carry out these acts.

Dr Ajay Taware has submitted a petition requesting exemption from the case, while Ashish Mittal has sought court permission for medical treatment at a private hospital.
