Pune: Prostitution Racket Busted in Pimpri Chinchwad, Two Women Rescued, One Woman Arrested

Pimpri Chinchwad, 27th April 2024: Two women victims were rescued from a prostitution racket that was operating in a flat in Pimpri Chinchwad. One woman accused was involved in the operation of this racket and has been arrested. The incident occurred at Keshav Nagar in Chinchwad around 4 pm on Thursday (April 25th).

Regarding this, Constable Sunil Shirat of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) has filed a complaint with the Chinchwad Police Station. The Chinchwad Police have registered a case against the accused woman, who is a resident of Kalewadi Road in Chinchwad.

According to Police Inspector Devendra Chavan, AHTU officers received information from a confidential source indicating that the woman was operating a prostitution racket in a flat for her financial gain within the jurisdiction of the Chinchwad Police Station. Acting on this information, the AHTU conducted a raid and rescued two women victims from this prostitution racket.

In response, the Chinchwad Police have registered a case against the accused woman under IPC Section 370(A) (Exploitation of trafficked person) along with relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Police Inspector (Crime) Prakash Jadhav of the Chinchwad Police Station is further investigating this matter.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Doifode, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Dr. Vishal Hire. The team from AHTU included Police Inspector Devendra Chavan, Police Constables Sunil Shirsath, Maruti Karchude, Bhagwanta Muthe, Ganesh Karote, Sudha Toke, Vaishnavi Gavade, Reshma Jhavare, and Sonali Mane.
