Pune: Purushottam Karandak To Be Held Twice This Year For First Time
Pune, 6th July 2022: The colleges have started regularly this year after the pandemic. After this, preparations of the college dramatists for the Purushottam Karandak, an annual inter-collegiate Marathi one-act play competition, has begun. For the first time this year, the Purushottam Karandak competition will be held for the second time in one year.
The competition will also be held at other centres in the state after two years. The Maharashtriya Kalopasak organizes the Purushottam Karandak inter-college one-act play competition. The primary round of the competition is held in August every year, and the final round is in September. However, the outbreak of corona also changed the schedule of the competition, along with academics. Last year the competition was held in January. After seven months, the competition will be held in August and September. The primary round of the competition will be from 14th to 29th August, and the final round on 17th and 18th September.
Rajendra Thakurdesai, Secretary, Maharashtriya Kalopasak, said, “Last year, the competition was held in January due to the outbreak of corona, that too, only in Pune. So for the first time this year, the competition is twice a year. Now, the colleges have been functioning regularly, so the competition will be held according to the pre-corona schedule. Also, the competition will be held at other centres across the state.”
