Pune: PVG’s College of Engineering Granted Autonomous Status

Pune, 21st June 2025: Renowned educational institute, Pune Vidyarthi Griha’s College of Engineering, Technology and Management, Pune has been officially granted autonomous status. The academic autonomy will be effective from the academic year 2025-26. A key Academic Council meeting was recently held to finalize and implement the new autonomous framework.
The meeting was attended by the college’s Director, Sunil Redekar, Professor Rajendra Kaduskar, Principal Dr. Manoj Tarambale, along with all department heads, the Dean of the Industry-Institute Cell, the Dean of Academics, the Controller of Examinations, Board of Studies members, faculty representatives, and specially invited members.
Eminent experts also participated as invitees, including Dr. Mukul Sutawane, Director of IIIT Prayagraj; Dr. Vikram Gadre, Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at IIT Bombay; Dr. Aditya Abhyankar, Head of the Department of Science and Technology at Savitribai Phule Pune University; Dr. Anupama Kumbhar, Professor from the Department of Chemistry; Dr. Gurudas Nulkar, Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics; and Dr. Ameya Pangarkar, an AI-based marketing consultant and international trainer.
Key items approved during the meeting include the First-Year Engineering syllabus, First-Year Management courses, and postgraduate programs in Electrical and Printing Engineering, along with the college’s academic and examination regulations.
Director Sunil Redekar noted that this meeting marked a significant milestone in the implementation of the institute’s academic autonomy. The autonomous status will enable the college to independently design its curriculum, assessments, and academic processes, thereby paving the way for enhanced educational quality and greater industry relevance.
