Pune: Rahane, Adkar in line for double crown at D.E.S. Fergusson College AITA Championship series U-18 Tennis Tournament

Pune, 28th April 2022:  Nishit Rahane and Asmi Adkar both of  Pune  placed  themselves in line for a double crown reaching the finals of. The singles And the doubles event in the boys and the girls section at the D.E.S. Fergusson College Championship series Under 18 Tennis Tournament  organized by Fergusson College and Nandan Bal Tennis Academy Under the auspices of MSLTA and AITA and   played at Fergusson College Tennis Courts.

In the Boys Semifinal  seventh seeded Nishit Rahane outplayed  Anshul Satav 6-2, 6-1 he will take in sixth  seeded giant killer Tanishq Jadhav who upset second seeded  Sahil Tambat 6-2, 6-4

In the doubles Rahane pairing with Jay Dixit will take on third seeded Arnav Kokane/Aryan Kotasthane who upset second seeds Tanishq Jadhav and Anmol Nagpure 6-7(4), 7-6(0), 12-10;

In the girls section  13 year old Asmi Adkar who qualified  blanked out Telangana’s Hiya  Mehta  6-0, 6-0 to set up a title clash with fourth seeded  Agnimitra Bhattacharya who out hit Pratishtha Saini  6-2, 6-3;

Aadkar also made the girls doubles finals along with Prisha Shinde  upsetting top seeded pair of Dhanvi Kale and Agnimitra Bhattacharya 6-1, 6-0 they will take on second seeded  Mrunmayee Joshi and Shruti Nanajkar for the crown
