Pune: Rahatani Employee’s Suicide Sparks Investigation into Senior Harassment Allegations
Rahatani, 17th January 2024: A 38-year-old employee took his own life on March 11, 2023, allegedly due to prolonged mental suffering caused by his seniors. The incident took place in Nakhate Nagar, Rahatani, prompting a case to be registered at the Wakad Police Station.
The deceased, Pradeep Ashok Devtale, worked for the company FreshToHome. His suicidal death has raised serious concerns about workplace mental health and harassment.
Police Sub-Inspector Avadhoot Shingare filed a complaint in the Wakad police station, leading to the registration of a case against individuals identified as Alluri, Aman, Kiran Kapoor, and Aniket Deshmukh. The accused are alleged to be seniors in the company and are accused of subjecting Pradeep to mental torture, ultimately driving him to take his own life.
According to the police, the accused people targeted Devtale within the company, subjecting him to mental harassment that allegedly played a pivotal role in motivating him to commit suicide. The incident occurred at Pradeep’s residential house around 10:30 pm on March 11, 2023.
Wakad police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Devtale’s suicide.
