Pune: Biker’s Death Linked to Alcohol-Induced Collision On Kalewadi Phata Bridge

Rahatani, 17th January 2024: In an incident on March 3, 2023, a fatal collision occurred on the Kalewadi Phata Flyover Bridge in Rahatani, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old biker identified as Akash Tanaji Kumbhar. The accident, attributed to careless driving under the influence of alcohol, took place due to a collision with a rock on the side of the road.

The unfortunate incident unfolded on the Kalewadi Phata Flyover Bridge, where Akash Kumbhar, a resident of Kalewadi, was riding his bike under the influence of alcohol. Witnesses report that he was travelling at high speed when his bike collided with a rock situated on the side of the road on the bridge.

The case has been registered on January 15, 2024, at the Wakad Police Station. Police Sub-Inspector Avadhoot Shingare has filed a complaint regarding the accident. The deceased has been identified as Akash Tanaji Kumhar, aged 23.

Wakad police are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident. Preliminary findings suggest that the collision was a result of Kumhar’s reckless driving while under the influence of alcohol. The investigation aims to gather further details to ascertain the sequence of events leading to the tragic incident.
