Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Anil Kumar Pathak said the revenue growth during the financial year 2025–26 was driven by focused efforts on strengthening ticket checking activities, improving passenger revenue, and expanding non-fare revenue sources such as publicity, parking, catering, and station-based commercial utilisation. The division has adopted systematic monitoring of revenue streams, transparent e-auction processes, and better utilisation of railway assets to enhance earnings. Special emphasis was also placed on managing festival rush traffic, introducing new services, and improving passenger amenities, which contributed to both passenger growth and revenue performance during the year.

New contracts were also awarded for digital lockers at Pune and Shirdi Sainagar stations, and battery swapping stations were installed at multiple locations including Shivajinagar and Pimpri.
Infrastructure upgrades are underway at several stations including Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Talegaon, Chinchwad, Akurdi, and Hadapsar under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. New Emergency Medical Rooms were established at Miraj and Ahmednagar stations, while a six-bed TTE rest room became operational at Hadapsar station on January 26, 2026.
During Diwali and Chhath festivals in 2025, the division handled 9.33 lakh passengers through 583 special train trips and used a 21,500 square feet holding area for crowd management.
