Pune Railway Yard Block on July 5 to Disrupt Services; Express, Suburban and DEMU Trains Cancelled, Diverted
Pune, 26th June 2026: Central Railway’s Pune Division will operate a nine-hour special traffic and power block in Pune Yard on Sunday, July 5, resulting in the cancellation, partial cancellation and regulation of several suburban, DEMU and long-distance train services.
The block will be in force from 8 am to 5 pm to facilitate engineering, Signal & Telecommunication (S&T) and Overhead Equipment (OHE) works for replacing DDS Points No. 207 (I & II) and 208 (III & IV) and upgrading the existing 52 kg track layout to a 60 kg DDS layout in the Pune–Lonavala section.
During the block, Platforms 1 and 2 at Pune station will not be available for train movements from the CSMT end, while train movements towards CSMT from Platforms 2, 3 and 4 will also remain suspended.
As a result, six train services have been fully cancelled on July 5. These include the Pune–Talegaon and Talegaon–Pune suburban services (Train Nos. 99902 and 99903), Pune–Daund DEMU (71407), Satara–Pune DEMU (71420), and the CSMT Mumbai–Pune Express and Pune–CSMT Mumbai Express (Train Nos. 11007 and 11008).
Several other services will be short terminated at Shivajinagar, Khadki, Hadapsar and Daund. Among the affected long-distance trains are the Jaipur–Pune Express, CSMT Mumbai–Pune Express, Jammu Tawi–Pune Express, Amravati–Pune Express and Nagpur–Pune Express, which will terminate before reaching Pune station.
Similarly, a number of trains will originate from intermediate stations instead of Pune. These include the Pune–Jaipur Express, Pune–CSMT Mumbai Express and Pune–Nagpur Express, which will commence their journeys from Khadki or Hadapsar after the completion of the block. The Pune–Kolhapur Express will originate from Satara.
In addition, four trains — LTT Mumbai–SMVT Bengaluru Special, Gwalior–Daund Express, CSMT Mumbai–MGR Chennai Central Express and LTT Mumbai–Kakinada Port Express — will be regulated by about 30 minutes in the Lonavala–Pune section during the block period.
Passengers travelling on July 5 have been advised to verify the latest running status and schedule of their trains before commencing their journey, as multiple services will operate with temporary changes due to the maintenance work.
