Pune, 17th July 2026: The proposed Ramwadi–Wagholi Metro corridor has moved a step closer to execution, with Maha Metro inviting bids for the construction of four elevated stations on the first phase of the project.

The tenders cover stations at Kalyaninagar, Somnath Nagar, Kharadi and Tuljabhavani Chowk on the 11.6-km corridor, which will eventually comprise 11 stations. Officials said the station contracts are being processed separately from the viaduct package, for which bids were invited around six months ago.

The first phase of the corridor will run between Ramwadi and Tuljabhavani Chowk along the busy Nagar Road stretch.

According to officials, Maha Metro and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) have held multiple meetings and site inspections to finalise the viaduct alignment. Most of the elevated structure will run above Nagar Road, and traffic management measures, including barricading plans, are being worked out to facilitate construction.

Officials said the project is currently in the contractor selection stage and groundwork will begin after the completion of administrative formalities.
