Pune: Ravet, Tathawade Underpasses On Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway To Be Closed For Repairs
Pimpri Chinchwad, 28th September 2026: Repair and concreting work at the Ravet and Tathawade underpasses on the Kiwale-Wakad stretch of the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway will be undertaken following damage caused by heavy rainfall. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has appealed to motorists to use alternative routes during the work.
The Mumbai-Bengaluru highway passes through Pimpri-Chinchwad. The heavy rainfall this year has damaged service roads and underpasses between Kiwale and Wakad, with several potholes reported in the underpasses.
With the rains having eased over the past few days, NHAI has started repair work. The Ravet and Tathawade underpasses will also undergo concreting to improve the condition of the road.
The Mumbai-bound lane of the service road between the Pavana river and the Ravet underpass will be closed to traffic to facilitate concreting work.
Similarly, the Satara-bound lane below the Tathawade underpass and the stretch in front of JSPM College will remain closed for concreting work.
Vinod Patil, executive engineer, NHAI, said the concreting work would provide motorists with a stronger and more durable road once completed.
NHAI has appealed to motorists to use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion and inconvenience. Commuters have also been asked to follow traffic and warning signs installed at the site and cooperate with the authorities.
