Pune: Real Estate Broker Duped Of Rs 32 Lakh With Promise Of Gain In Bitcoin

Hinjawadi, 5th February 2022: A real estate broker was lost Rs 32 lakh after he was lured to invest money for more profit in cryptocurrency Bitcoin. The incident took place at Marunji between December 2021 and January 2022.

The 42-year-old real estate broker, a resident of Marunji, has lodged a complaint at Hinjawadi Police Station in this regard. Five to six mobile number holders have been charged with fraud.

According to the information given by police, the complainant was reportedly was included in the WhatsApp group formed by the accused without his consent. Then, he was lured into making a profit by investing in Bitcoin. By gaining the trust of the complainant, the accused then asked the complainant to download the BINANCE LUN mobile application.

He was then asked to pay in the wallet of the application and the accused demanded a commission for crediting the profit to the account. Initially, the complainant paid Rs 23 lakh but the accused did not transfer any profit. He has lost a total of Rs 32.15 lakh in this bid.

Police are investigating the case further.
