Pune, 5th February 2022: On behalf of the Department of Social Justice, Government of India, IFC Venture Fund, and Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI), Dr Ambedkar Entrepreneur Award and Dr Ambedkar National Start-up Competition are being organized all over the country.
Milind Kamble, founder chairman of DICCI, appealed to the Scheduled Caste Entrepreneurs from all over the country to participate in this project in large numbers.
The scheme is designed for novice entrepreneurs and business-oriented persons belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC). IFCI Venture will act as a nodal agency across the country to achieve the goal of creating employment to contribute to the development of the country. The DICCI is working as its co-organizer.
The Ambedkar Social Innovation and Incubation Mission (ASIIM) is being implemented by the Government of India for the Ministry Of Social Justice and Empowerment (MOSJE) under VCF-SC.
Kamble further informed “The objective of ASIIM is to set up a ‘Technology Business Incubator’ by 2024 with the help of the Central Department of Science and Technology and other reputed institutes by exploring a total of 1000 new concepts. Through this a fund of Rs. 30 lakhs will be disbursed to the Scheduled Caste youth over a period of three years in the company equity”.
The national competition ‘Ambedkar Young Entrepreneurs League (AYE League)’ will be organized through IFCI Venture Implementing Agency to see the innovations of Scheduled Caste youth. The national competition will be held in major cities across the country with the help of various organizations.
The AYE League will be played in two phases. It will be held in February 2022 and March 2022. In the first phase, online applications will be requested. In the second phase, the online competition will be conducted in a joint venture between the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Mumbai, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Gandhinagar will be included. The finale will be held in New Delhi; where participants and winners will be felicitated.
The Ambedkar Excellence Award will be presented in two phases at a grand ceremony in New Delhi. The Ambedkar Excellence Award will be given to innovators and entrepreneurs of Scheduled Castes for discovering innovations that will be helpful to micro, small and medium enterprises, as well as for entrepreneurs who come up with ideas that are notable for manufacturing and service sectors. Also, this award will be given to those who have explored complementary innovations for the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) under the Make India initiative.
Awareness programs will be organized in the states to increase the participation of Scheduled Caste youth in the Ambedkar Young Entrepreneurs League (AYE League) and Ambedkar Excellence Award and to contribute to the economy of the country. Along with this, various initiatives will be taken to increase the participation of Scheduled Caste youth in the Ambedkar Young Entrepreneurs League (AYE League) and Ambedkar Excellence Award.
Youths from Scheduled Castes can register on the website www.ayel.in. Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DICCI) is working in various ways to attract new entrepreneurs from Scheduled Caste across the state and the country, Kamble added.
