Pune: Recruitment Of 3,074 Professors In Maharashtra Soon – Minister Uday Samant

Pune, 27th June 2021: Maharashtra higher and technical education minister Uday Samant today informed that recruitment of 3,064 professors will be done soon in the state.

He was addressing a press conference at the Pune District Collector office today. Since June 21, NET, SET qualified candidates have been protesting for recruitment. After the announcement by the minister, they have rolled back the protest.

“Our government has approved the recruitment of 4,074 professors of which 1600 have been appointed. The recruitment was stopped due to the Coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic. The proposal for the recruitment of 3,064 professors has been sent to the finance department from my ministry. It is in the final stage and expected to get approved by next week,” he added.

New academic year may start from September 15: “As per AICTE instructions, the new academic year may start by September 15.

 We have made a decision that MH-CET needed for professional courses will be done by the end of July or in the beginning of August”, he said.

At the request of the professors working on an hourly basis, it was decided to pay 48 minutes of the session as honorarium. It was also decided to form a committee under the chairmanship of Director Dhanraj Mane to take a decision regarding CHB and submit a report within three months.

He said that a committee comprising the Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Minister for Social Justice, Minister for Tribal Welfare and other backward Bahujan Welfare Department would be constituted for a comprehensive policy and appropriate decision would be taken soon.

Responding positively to the demand made by Maharashtra State Librarians Federation for the recruitment of grant-aided senior colleges as well as university librarians, it has been decided to approve the recruitment of 121 librarians and 659 teachers of the university.
