Pune: Relatives Riot At Sassoon Hospital Following Family Member’s Death

Pune, 27th November 2022: A case has been registered at the Bund Garden police station against those who rioted at Sassoon Hospital due to the death of their relatives while undergoing treatment and manhandled the medical officers. This incident happened on the night of 27 November at 12:30.

 

 

 

A case has been registered against Bhupendra Muralidhar More (40), residing near Navale Bridge, Narhe, Shubham Prafulla Gharwatkar (20), a resident of Dhayari, and Dilip Chachurte, a resident of Budhwar Peth, along with their accomplices, at Bund Garden Police Station. In this regard, Dr Mayur Satyawan Satpute (30) has filed a complaint.

 

 

 

The complainant is a medical officer at Sassoon Hospital. He was working as RMO (Resident Medical Officer) at Ward No. 74 on 26 November from 8 pm to 8 am on 27 November. Dr Srihari Halnur was also at work. While both of them were examining the patient in Ward No. 40 on Sunday night at 12:30, the guard on duty came and told them that six persons were screaming in front of the MICU ward.

 

 

 

At that time, a patient was undergoing neuro treatment. He died during treatment. Due to this reason, the relatives started shouting about the death of the patient due to non-arrangement of proper treatment. At this time, when the doctor asked to do the post-mortem, both the children of the patient refused to do the post-mortem and created ruckus.

 

 

 

Police are further investigating the case.
