Lonavala, 26th January 2022: INS Shivaji, the premier technical training establishment of the Indian Navy located at Lonavala celebrated the 73rd Republic Day.

A wreath laying ceremony was held on the occasion, where-in Cmde Arvind Rawal, Commanding Officer, INS Shivaji and Station Commander, Lonavala placed a floral wreath at the War Memorial and paid homage to the sea warriors and freedom fighters who made the supreme sacrifice in the defence of the nation.

On this Occasion, Honorary Commissions were also awarded to 03 sailors on behalf of The President of India in recognition of their outstanding service to the nation.

The event was followed by an award ceremony where-in service personnel, DSC jawans, defence civilians and civilian personnel of the establishment were honoured by the Station Commander by award of Proficiency certificates and cash awards.

The Commanding Officer conveyed good wishes and greetings to all personnel present and to their families on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the historic day when the Indian Constitution came into existence and made the nation into a Republic.

All events were held while following necessary precautions pertaining to COVID-19.
