Pune: Residents Must Ensure Fire Prevention Mechanisms Are In Good Conditions – Fire Brigade Chief
Pune, 9th October 2022: “The fire prevention mechanism at Amanora Township is probably the best in the country, as it never compromises with it. I have seen many townships, but at Amanora the homes are designed with careful considerations for the safety of their occupants. The township besides regularly inspecting and maintaining the fire system also provides fire compliance certificate to every flat owner so that they don’t neglect installing any safety measures,” said Chief Guest Devendra Potphode, Chief Fire Officer of PMC and PMRDA during the inauguration ceremony of the Fire Prevention Week today at Amanora Fire Station at Hadapsar.
The Fire Prevention Week will be from October 9 to October 15, 2022.
Sujit Patil, Fire Officer, PMRDA, JK Bhosale, COO, City Corporation Ltd, Aniruddha Deshpande, MD, City Corporation Ltd and Joby Abraham, Fire Manager at Amanora were present during the event
Potphode said, “Though the Amanora fire station caters to the needs of the township, the residents should also ensure that the system is in good condition. Fire safety awareness should be conducted regularly and should start from school level.”
Speaking at the ceremony, Aniruddha Deshpande said, “At Amanora we always try to get the latest safety equipment in the world and adhere to all the international safety norms prescribed in high rises. By next year we are planning to get fire drones, which would reach at least 100 metres and upgrade to other modern fire-fighting systems like fire escape chutes and serum sprays. We are also considering installing new fire pumps for jet spray in the terrace of each building. In case if there’s fire in a building, the building facing it can spray water to extinguish the fire. We want to achieve a zero fire policy.”
The program was moderated by Chaitanya Rathi.
