Pune: Residents of Baner, Balewadi, and Pashan Invited to Shape Kothrud Citizens’ Manifesto Ahead of Assembly Elections

Kothrud, 13th November 2024: Multiple community groups have invited residents of Baner, Balewadi, and Pashan to share their views for the upcoming Citizens’ Manifesto for the Kothrud Constituency in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections. This initiative encourages residents to express their opinions on various issues impacting daily life in the region. The manifesto aims to capture a diverse range of citizen voices as the elections approach on 20th November 2024.
The organizers emphasize that this project goes beyond just voting—it focuses on shaping policies and initiatives that directly affect local communities. Topics include sustainability, infrastructure, mobility, health, and education. Participants are invited to share their thoughts on how local governance can improve public services and foster economic development.
The manifesto is a collaborative effort involving several local organizations, such as the Baner Balewadi Pashan Residents Association, Baner Balewadi Nagrik Manch, ABBP-Area Sabha United Balewadi Residents Association, Jeshtha Nagrik Mahasangha Pune, Navchaitanya Jeshtha Nagrik Sangh, Pune Mahila Mandal (Baner-Balewadi-Aundh Branch), Baner Sanskrutik Mandal, Vivekananda Jeshtha Nagrik Manch, Vishvam Bharati Foundation, and My Waste My Responsibility. These groups are working together to ensure that a broad spectrum of perspectives is included in the final document.
Residents are encouraged to submit their ideas and suggestions through an online form. The completed Citizens’ Manifesto will be presented to the candidates ahead of the elections, helping them better understand the community’s needs. Feedback from residents is considered crucial for informing policymakers about local priorities.
